Govt. of A.P. constituted A.P. State Minorities Commission to monitor the implantation of welfare schemes of the Govt. including promotion of Urdu language but it is very surprising that Urdu has not been given the status of second official language in the minorities commission itself. In the chambers of chairman and other officials of the commission, names have been written only in English and Urdu is not at all included. Govt. has given Urdu the status of second official language in 15 districts of the State but the situation in secretariat itself is deplorable. Urdu has been inscribed on the name plates of State Ministers, Principal Secretaries and other officials along with English and Telugu but it is very surprising that the officials of Minorities Commissions neglected the use of Urdu. Minorities Commission should instruct its officials to inscribe Urdu on the name plates of Chairman and other officials.
