The announcement made by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs that no Umra Visa will be issued after July 8 has triggered a wave of apprehension among Umra aspirants. The basic reason of cutting issuance of Umra visas is the extension work, which is going on day and night in the Masjidul Haram in Makkah Mukarrama and its suburb.
A wheelchair bridge will be operational during the next Hajj in the courtyard of the Grand Mosque as per the directives of Khadim-e-Haramain Al Sharifain Shah Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz. Although the Saudi government has announced to stop issuing Umra Visa from July 21 but it is said that Saudi Embassy has stopped issuing visa from June 21 itself. Most of the people are said to have booked air tickets before the arrival of visa and some have also booked hotels in Makkah and Madina.
