Minor Irrigation Minister T G Venkatesh has said that Andhra Pradesh would be split into four pieces if the mighty Congress party was weakened in the State.
The Rayalaseema leader participated in election meetings in this pilgrim town in Chittoor district on Sunday.
Speaking to media persons, Venkatesh said that there will be no threat to the Kiran Kumar Reddy government even if the YSR Congress party candidates of Kadapa MP Jagan Mohan Reddy emerged victorious in all the 17 by-elections on June 12. He asserted that the Kiran government would continue till the next elections.
The Rayalaseema leader lashed out at Jagan Mohan Reddy for resorting to political gimmicks in the name of Odarpu yatras and dharnas on people’s problems. However, he cautioned the people that the State would be fragmented into pieces if they voted for the Jagan’s party in the June 12 by-elections. He also charged Telangana Rashtra Samithi chief K. Chandrasekhara Rao with trying to bifurcate the united State.
Diverting his fire towards the TDP president, the minister said that Chandrababu Naidu was speaking like a mad man due to aging. He also advised Naidu to hand over his party reins to his brothers-in-law and retire from active politics.
Venkatesh has made it clear that some of his cabinet colleagues facing corruption charges would also land in jails if they were found guilty of misappropriating public money. He also advised Jagan Mohan Reddy to render justice to the victims of his follower Pulivendula Krishna. (NSS)
