Due to the tension on the borders of India and Pakistan, the traditional culture of sweet exchange among the soldiers of both the nations has been cancelled.
Repeated ceasefire violation by Pakistan has resulted in the deaths of many BSF soldiers and civilians.
BSF, IG, Anil Palliwal said “This time there won’t be any exchange of sweets, we won’t be taking sweets and we are not offering also this time.”
“We are having extra vigil this time regarding the security, we have received extra man power this time and our officers are in the field locations and are guarding the border day and night” Palliwal added
“Normally the sweet exchange takes place on Independence day and on other festivals seen by both the countries perspective, this is a part of the border security forces tradition” he further added.
In view of Independence Day, the BSF has stepped up vigil and deployment has been increased along the border. (ANI)
