Governor ESL Narasimhan who is on a national capital trip for three days today ruled out special powers offered to him on Hyderabad which is joint capital for 10 years for Andhra Pradesh and Telangana state post bifurcation. Interacting with media persons at Delhi after calling on a couple of union ministers, the governor said that denied media reports that powers related to law and order in Hyderabad were given to him. It is the media reporting such stories and no such information has been received from the Centre, he stated. The issue did not come for discussion with Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh he said. The Governor said to have called on President Pranab Mukherjee, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Law minister Sadanand Gouda and others. He is known to have apprised them of crucial issues like bifurcation of high court, RTC, sharing of waters, power and other issues related to two states. It is likely that the Centre may ask Narasimhan to take up the responsibility to divide the HC before June 2 when bifurcation took place.
The Governor slashed his Delhi stint to two days from three and preferred to return back to Hyderabad. On HC division he said that there is no problem and the issue will be sorted out through a dialogue. He said that law and order situation in Hyderabad is good and both the states are doing well on development. Since it is just nine months that the two states formed it needs at least 12 months to improve further he said. (NSS)
