No social justice in Telangana State: Meira Kumar

Senior congress leader and former Speaker of Lok Sabha Meira Kumar today slammed Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao for deliberately failing to keep the promise of making a Dalit leader as Chief Minister of separate Telangana State. “KCR is just mesmerizing the people and not doing anything better”, she charged at a poll campaign at Bhupalapally in Warnagal district on Sunday.

“Despite knowing that it would lose elections in Andhra region if then united Andhra Pradesh was birfucated, the Congress high command delivered statehood come what may”, she said and expressed displeasure at the helm of affairs for not keeping up to expectations. She said the voters in the region will teach a lesson to the TRS as the Biharis did so for Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Meira Kumar said social justice is lacking in Telangana State. She expressed concern over 1,500 suicides committed by toiling farmers in Tealngana State. She also alleged that both Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao made tall promises and ignored them.

AICC general secretary Digvijay Singh alleged that the TRS Government has miserably failed on all sectors and the present bye-election warranted due to KCR’s dictatorial rule. Singh likened KCR to Narendra Modi in telling lies in the last general elections and became Chief Minister and Prime Minister respectively. On coming to power, these two governments did not implement manifesto promises, he fumed.

The AICC leader exhorted the people of Warangal to cast their votes to Sarve Satyanarayana as the Congress delivered statehood to Telangana. But no development has taken place so far in the infant State, he deplored..

Former Union Minister S Jaipal Reddy also slammed KCR for deceiving the people. Where was KCR when Telangana Bill was introduced in Lok Sabha and Sakala Janula Samme?, he asked. (NSS)
