Foreign minister Salman Khurshid assured that the number of Hajj aspirants going to Hajj 2013 by the Central Hajj Committee will not be slashed and the request made by Saudi Arabian government to reduce the number of Hajj aspirants by 20 percent will not be applied to Hajj Committee aspirants.
Salman Khurshid was addressing a meeting of Hajj Committee Chairmen and Executive Officers of all the states of the country in New Delhi. State Hajj Committee Chairman Khaleeluddin Ahmed and Executive Officer Mohammed Abdul Hameed attended the meeting. They requested Salman Khurshid not to include Hajj committee aspirants in the 20 percent reduction as it will trigger disappointment among the Hajj committee aspirants, majority of whom have already paid the 1st installment.
Salman Khurshid assured that Hajj committee aspirants will be exempted from the reduction of Hajj aspirants’ quota.
