Hyderabad, June 24: The poor residents of Ghousnagar Bandlaguda opens their eyes on Sunday morning to witness the destruction of their hardly earned property. This demolition has left over one hundred persons without roof on their heads. Still there are no sign of relief is favouring them.
The Muslim leadership is once again remained deaf, the Chandrayangutta MLA was remained unconcerned even as the residents pleaded him to interfere in this disaster. They pleaded that they should be given time at least go in their home and retrieve their belongings, the Revenue officials gave the orders to start the demolition works.
The demolitions began at 6 am on Sunday morning when most of the residents were asleep. The Revenue officials arrived on the scene with JCBs and a large contingent of police personnel.
Within minutes, not only the houses, but also personal belonging of the residents vanished into heaps of rubble.
The residents claim that they have been living in the area since the last 12-15 years in ‘pucca’ houses.
The residents further claimed that they have been paying taxes and also the electricity bills regularly as you can see in the video.
Political leaders including Telangana Rashtra Samithi president K Chandrasekhar Rao projected his ‘Muslim-friendly’ face on his tour of Ghousenagar, Bandlaguda mandal on Wednesday.
With an eye on the forthcoming by-elections to 10 Assembly seats in Telangana district, which have a sizeable Muslim voter presence, the TRS chief said that he is fighting to get back properties belonging to the Muslim Wakf Board.
He said that these properties are estimated to be valued around Rs 4.5 lakh crore belong to the Muslims and the TRS will fight to remove the encroachments on them.
KCR mentioned a large portion of land near Hi-Tech city, which is in the name of Gurukul Trust. He said that this particular piece of land belongs to the Muslim Wakf Board and was handed over to the Trust by unscrupulous politicians.
Addressing the people of Ghousenagar whose houses were demolished by Revenue Department officials, KCR said that he will fight for them. He said that the people who have been left homeless are welcome to come and live in the Telangana Bhavan till their houses are reconstructed.
KCR also handed the 23 persons whose houses were demolished Rs 5,000 each.
The people of Ghousenagar told the TRS chief that they prefer to stay on the land and refused to come and live in the opulence of TRS Bhavan.
The TRS chief promised that he would talk to Chief Minister K Rosaiah about the issue during his next meeting.
He also said that he is responsible for performing the marriages of the girls left homeless during the demolition.
