There is absolutely no shortage of salt in Telangana State, clarified Finance and Civil Supplies Minister Eatala Rajender on Sunday.
Speaking to media persons, the minister said some forces were trying to defame the government by spreading baseless rumours of shortage of salt. Stating that stern action would be taken against such people, he said salt was available in sufficient quantity across the State. He said people were already disturbed due to demonitisation of Rs. 1,000 and Rs. 500 old currency notes. Taking advantage of this situation, some miscreants were spreading rumours on shortage of essential commodities.
The minister asked people to be cautious against such people and never believe in such rumours. He said all commodities, including salt, was available and there is absolute no shortage of any product. (INN)
