Communist Party of India (CPI) Telangana State Council has asked the State government to clear the rumours doing rounds of shifting the Tribal University from Utnoor to somewhere in Adilabad district.
CPI State secretary Chada Venkat Reddy addressed a letter to Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao on Sunday in this regard. Chada, in his letter reminded that KCR had assured the district people at a meeting held at Jodeghat on the occasion of Komuram Bheem death anniversary that the government would establish Tribal University in Utnoor town. But, before the establishment of the University in Utnoor, it is learnt that the government was shifting the venue of establishment of the University to somewhere else in the district from Utnoor.
Venkat Reddy said student unions, including All India Youth Federation (AIYF) have launched hunger strike after knowing about the news. All student and youth organizations are on agitation path while extending their support to the hunger strike. Urging the State government to clear the doubts on establishment of the Tribal University in Utnoor town, Chada demanded that the government establish the Tribal University in Utnoor town only. (NSS)
