Hyderabad, September 24: Even as farmers held protests at several places in the state over scarcity of fertilisers, Andhra Pradesh Agriculture Minister N Raghuveera Reddy today said there is no scarcity of fertilisers in the state.
“We have adequate stocks of fertilisers. There is absolutely no problem. We are able to see that not even a single farmer or a single acre feels the unavailability of fertilisers. We will give adequate fertilisers to all,” he said in Tirupati.
The minister’s assertion came even as farmers held protests at various places in the state. Farmers had allegedly resorted to looting in districts like Mahabubnagar as they could not get fertilisers despite waiting for days together.
TDP Chief N Chandrababu Naidu held a massive protest at Mahabubnagar over the alleged shortage of fertilisers.
Left parties and BJP also held protests on the scarcity of fertilisers.
