Hyderabad, April 09: Ms Nasima Mirza, the mother of tennis star Sania Mirza, on Friday confirmed that her daughter’s wedding with Pakistani cricketer Shoaib Malik will be held as scheduled on April 15.
Sania’s aunt, Ms Hameeda, also denied that the wedding will be held on Friday, as stated by Qazi Azmatullah Jaffri earlier in the day.
The cleric had earlier given a surprise twist to the Sania-Shoaib affair by announcing
that the wedding would be solemnised on Friday instead of the scheduled date of April 15. He said the marriage will be solemnised at 7 pm.
Also, Mr Chamundeswarnath, former cricket administrator and a family friend of the Mirzas, confirmed that Sania would not be getting married today.
Shoaib has to get clearance from the deputy
commissioner of police which has to be submitted to the Wakf Board. The board
will then allow the Qazi to solemnise the marriage, Mr Chamundeswarnath said.
