No risk of Muslims being affected with FDI in retail sector

Hyderabad, December 5: Debates are on across the country on the proposal of 51 percent Foreign Direct Investment in retail sector but Muslims have not showed their stand on this issue.

The main reason behind this is that there is no risk of Muslims being directly affected with FDI in retail sector rather the Muslim community would benefit from it as consumer. Because the ratio of Muslims in this sector is very less and hence the negative impact on them will also be less.

Besides this the buying and selling trend and food habits of Muslims are also different from others.

When big companies will be in the field of retail sector then they will offer items on concessional rates due to competition among them, which will directly benefit consumers. Thus Muslims as consumers will be the beneficiaries of the competition.

With regard to food habits Muslims usually buy vegetables etc. from the shops nearby they don’t like vegetables of cold storage from the supermarket. Apart from this Muslims do not use many items because of haram halal matter which other communities use. This is the reasons that many big companies will not head towards Muslim localities fearing loss in business.
