London: Criticizing US president Donald Trump’s proposed official visit to UK, London Mayor Sadiq Khan said, ‘Trump will not be welcomed in Britain’. Declaring London as the city of tolerance and mutual acceptance, Sadiq Khan said Trump will not be welcomed in the Britain. When asked about the preparation of local government for Trump’s official visit, Sadiq Khan said ‘as a mayor I’ll always talk about the interest and security of London citizens, I had also earlier appealed Prime Minister Theresa May to cancel Trump’s official visit.
Last month Trump had tweeted three anti Muslim videos which created uproar in UK. Senior politicians had urged Prime Minister Theresa May to cancel the visit. However Theresa May refused to accept the demand. Sadiq said ‘I myself love British people, US and its citizen but Trump’s recent comment is against UK’s stand against racism and hatred.
It is believed that Trump will inaugurate US embassy in South-West London.
