Minister for Roads and Buildings T Nageshwar Rao today expressed displeasure at the tardy pace of works pertaining to that of five state highways. He held a review meeting on the roads and development and expressed ire and anguish at the officials and consultants for no progress for last six months. He pulled up the officials and consultants for failing to completing the alignments of the roads. Rao warned of stringent measures against the officials and consultants for negligence and dereliction and failing to take timely steps for the development of roads. He also expressed dismay at the lack of security measures on the roads plan of the state. Expressing concern at some Collectors and NHRI officials for not aware of state land acquisition policy, the minister asked that the Collectors should involve local leaders to resolve the land dispute cases and acquire land wherever necessary.
