No political vendetta against Jagan: Botcha

Hyderabad, July 13: Brushing aside criticism that there was political vendetta behind minister Shankar Rao filing a petition in the High Court which led the court to order a CBI probe into “illegal assets” owned by YSR Congress president and Kadapa MP Jagan Mohan Reddy, PCC chief Botcha has said it is, in fact, a good opportunity to those facing allegations to prove their sincerity.
Talking to newsmen at Gandhi Bhavan here on Tuesday, Botcha who also holds the transport portfolio in the Kiran Kumar Reddy cabinet, said, “Law will take its own course on the (Jagan’s assets) issue and the Congress has nothing to do with the case.. A probe is, in fact, beneficial to him (Jagan) to prove his sincerity. Had he taken advantage of his father’s (YSR) position to earn wealth, then he has to pay for it. When allegations were made against me in the Volkswagen scam, I had asked the then chief minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy to order a CBI probe. I was given a clean chit and now I move holding my head high. There is no need to fear if one is clean. TDP leader N Chandrababu Naidu has been facing criticism for getting court’s stay orders on cases where he was allegedly involved. Those leading public life have to prove their honesty if faced with allegations.”
