Telangana Chief Secretary Dr. Rajiv Sharma said that not a single case of polio has been reported in Telangana since 2007 and hoped that polio would be completely eradicated from the State.
Speaking to media persons after administering polio drops to children at a Polio Centre in Kundan Bagh here on Sunday, the Chief Secretary said massive awareness campaign has been launched for eradication of polio. He said today polio drops were administered to nearly 44 lakh children belowo five years through 27,000 centres across the State. Special counters were set up at bus stations, railway stations, airport and other public places.
Meanwhile, Health Minister Dr. K. Lakshma Reddy and Transport Minister Mahender Reddy inaugurated pulse polio progamme at DWCRA Bhavan in Manikonda. (INN)
