Medical and Health Minister C Laxma Reddy on Tuesday made it clear that the Telangana Government has no proposal to reduce the tuition fee in medical colleges in the State.
Replying to a question raised by MLA R Krishnaiah during Question Hour in Legislative Assembly, the minister informed that the tuition fee for MBBS course in non-minority private medical colleges was revised for Management and NRI Quota seats. While the fee under Category A (Competent Authority Quota) and Category B (EAMCET based Management Quota – CQ) remained unchanged at Rs 60,000 and Rs 240,000 respectively, it was revised from Rs 5.50 lakh to Rs 9 lakh for Management Quota and from Rs 5.50 lakh to Rs 11 lakh for NRI quota seats. Similarly, in Minority Private Medical Colleges, fee was increased from Rs 6 lakh to Rs 9 lakh for Management Quota and from Rs 6 lakh to Rs 12 lakh for NRI Quota seats. The fee for government medical colleges is Rs 10,000 per annum. (INN)
