Mumbai, January 12: Bollywood Superstar Shsh Rukh Khan, owner of the IPL team Kolkata Knight Riders, has categorically denied to take back Sourav Gangukly in the team.
Speaking on the sidelines of Apsara Awards 2011 in Mumbai on Tuesday, Shah Rukh expressed grief over Gangluy’s exclusion from the team. At the same time, he also cleared the air over all speculations of Ganguly’s role in the KKR, saying no berth for the former.
“Sourav is like my younger brother and i have regrets that he is not the part of KKR. But you have to give sacrifices for victory,” Shah Rukh said.
“I want to see my team’s best performance in the IPL4 and hope that Dada will have the same feelings.”
Shah Rukh said that he doesn’t take any decision related to the team. “Every decision is being taken by the cricket experts,” he added.
Earlier, in an interview with TV channel Badshah Khan had said that doors are stil open for Ganguly in the Team Kolkata.
It is worth mentioning here that KKR neither retained Ganguly for the fourth edition of cash-rich Indian Premier League (IPL) nor bid during the IPL auction 2011. Even no franchise owners shown interest in the former Indian captain.
On the other hand, Ganguly’s fans have been protesting against the KKR. In such condition, experts believe that it will be a tough task for the BCCI to hold IPL matches in the city.
