City Police Commissioner M Mahender Reddy on Thursday claimed that reliable information has been placed before him that certain groups are trying to create disturbances affecting public peace and order in Hyderabad City, inciting communal animosity between different communities in connection with the anniversary of demolition of Babri Masjid in Ayodhya on December 6.
Therefore, with a view to maintain public order, peace and tranquility in Hyderabad City, the Commissioner has prohibited every kind of procession, dharna, rally (including motor cycle rally) or public meetings and prohibit any individual/groups of individuals from making any speech, gesture or displaying pictures, symbols, placards, flags etc., which is likely to create religious animosity or hatred between different communities or individuals or is likely to cause disturbance to the public peace and order in the limits of Hyderabad City, except those expressly permitted by Police.
The Commissioner has warned of stern action if anyone violated the ban. (INN)
