Andhra Pradesh Government today clarified that there was no outbreak of fever and denied that the Annapureddipalli village of Khammam district was in the grip of epidemics as reported in a section of the Press.
Immediately reacting on the news report, Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy asked the District Collector to rush to the village with medical teams to take remedial measures. The District officials visited the village and conducted a thorough enquiry and submitted a report to the Chief Minister in this regard, an official release here said. During the enquiry, it was found that only one patient Ms Dosapati Rajyalaxmi aged about 33 years was suffering from fever from July one and admitted in Manipaul Hospital at Vijayawada and she died on July 23 due to Pneumonia, and other complications resulting in cardiac pulmonary arrest. Another person J Satyanarayana aged about 54 years was admitted to Narayana Superspeciality Hospital, Khammam with fever and he died on July 29. The cause of death was jaundice, hypertension, diabetics and multi organ failure. Further it was reported that the medical officers of Primary Health Centre, Erragunta has been conducting health camp from July 23 at Annapureddypalli village.
