No one thought I could carry off ‘Aahalya’, says Radhika

New Delhi, Aug 19 : Bollywood actress Radhika Apte, who gained lot of appreciation for her work in Sujoy Ghosh’s short-film ‘Aahalya’, said that getting compliments for her role in that short-film was a surprise as before Sujoy’s experiment with her, no one thought she could carry off the look and the character.

The ‘Badlapur’ actress told ANI, “First of all I will say I am really bad at taking compliments. If somebody gives me compliment my heart starts pumping. For me, the biggest compliment was to know that people are liking me in ‘Aahalya’. No one ever had the confidence that I could carry off such role. People thought I am not conventionally good looking and other stuff you get to hear in the industry. Sujoy put his trust in me and thankfully I stood up on that.”

The 29-year-old actress will be seen in ‘ Manjhi-The Mountain Man’ opposite Nawazuddin Siddiqui. The movie, which is a story about love and struggle, will release on August 21. (ANI)
