No one can vote before time: K J Rao

Former Election Commission Officer K J Rao has said that no one can be given an opportunity to cast his vote earlier than the time fixed for starting of polling.

He was reacting to reports that the YSR Congress Candidate Dharmana Krishna Das had cast his vote at 7.58 am, two minutes before the time of starting of polling. He said that the voting time was not recorded in the EVMs. He informed that the Election Commission has a right to scrap the vote that was cast earlier to the fixed time. He felt that the Election commission should have immediately responded on the complaint of campaigning the party symbol through advertisement.
