No nominations were received on Tuesday, the second day of filing of nominations, for the by-elections for Tirupati Assembly seat of Chittoor district.
The notification for the by-polls was issued on Monday although no nominations were filed in the last two days. The last date for filing of nomination will be January 27. The nominations will be scrutinised on January 28 and the last date for withdrawal of candidature will be January 30.
The polling will be on February 13 and the counting of votes will take place on February 16.
By-elections for Tirupati seat got necessitated due to the death of sitting MLA M Venakataramana of TDP on December 15. (INN)
