No new dengue death in WB: official

Kolkata: There is no reports of any dengue death in West Bengal in the last 24 hours, though the number of people infected by the vector-borne virus rose to 2,793.

So far, 15 people have died of dengue in the state, mostly from the North 24-Parganas and Hooghly districts, state Director of Health Services Biswaranjan Satpathy told PTI.

Though there was a report of death of a 32-year-old woman in south Dum Dum area in northern part of the metropolis, Satpathy said, “we are waiting for a confirmation whether it was a dengue death or not”.

Dengue infection and death have been reported also from districts like Malda, Nadia, Darjeeling, and South 24-Parganas.
