Washington : Bollywood actress Sonam Kapoor, who will be soon seen in Neerja Bhanot’s biopic, seems to be disheartened that ‘Neerja’ isn’t releasing in Pakistan.
The 30-year-old actress took to her Twitter handle and expressed her unhappiness by writing, “Extremely disheartened that #Neerja isn’t releasing this Friday in Pakistan. She was awarded by them & I hope they will salute her again.”
In one tweet Sonam also wrote that Neerja saves the lives of Pakistani citizens and guaranteed that Pakistan hasn’t been shown in a poor light in the flick.
The ‘Prem Ratan Dhan Payo’ star also tweeted, “When #Neerja releases worldwide and people see how fair the film is, I’m hopeful that it will result in a solution to a release in Pakistan.”
Directed by Ram Madhvi, ‘Neerja’ is a biopic based on the life of the Pan Am Flight 73 air hostess Neerja Bhanot. Bhanot was just 23-year-old when she sacrificed her life in saving 359 lives on board a hijacked flight to Karachi, Pakistan.
The film is slated to be released on February 19. (ANI)
