Andhra Pradesh Rashtra Samaikya Samithi Party on Thursday demanded that the Centre abandon State bifurcation process and take up development of backward regions in the State besides solving the contentious issues.
Speaking to mediapersons here, party president S Padmaiah said bifurcation of the State was not to the solution to all problems. He strongly felt that education sector will be badly affected with the division of the State. The State bifurcation would also result in law and order problem leading to resurrection of Naxalite problem in the State.
Expressing concern over pathetic condition of agriculture, Padmaiah charged the ruling Congress with practicing vote-bank politics. He also alleged that the Congress had decided to divide Andhra Pradesh with an intention to bag more number of Lok Sabha seats in the ensuing general elections. Party leader N. Krishnamurthy was also present. (NSS)
