No more free electricity to Sai Baba org

Hyderabad, January 24: It seems that the good time of the Sri Sathya Sai’s institute is going, the institute will not enjoy free electricity supply anymore. The Andhra Pradesh government on Jan 21 declared that free electricity would not provided to Sri Satya Sai Institute of Higher Medicine. The institution has been situated at Prasanthi Gram in Anantapur district.

Following Electricity Supply Act, 1978, the state government directed the electricity board to impose normal tariff which would be counted from Jan 2009 onwards.

The order of the state government has been issued on Saturday, Jan 21 stating, “Considering the argument of the discom that power purchase costs alone amount to 86 per cent of the sales and that the cost of purchasing power needs to be passed on, the state government has agreed to withdraw the scheme for subsidised power to the institute.”
