Yoga guru and Ayurved drugmaker Ramdev on Friday slammed his critics and defended the ‘Divya Putrajeevak Seed’, sold by Divya Pharmacy; by saying it has nothing to do with the birth of a male.
“The botanical name of this medicine is ‘Putranjiva roxburghi’. It’s called ‘Putrajeevak’ in Hindi, Gujarati, Kannada, Marathi, Telugu, Bengali and other languages. What do I do when its very name is Putrajeevak?” Ramdev told the media persons.
“If it creates any confusion, we will add a line to the product saying it has nothing to do with the birth of a male or a female child,” Ramdev said.
“The opposition MPs are lying on this. KC Tyagi should apologise. People are trying to make a political controversy out of a non-issue,” the Yoga guru, who was recently appointed Haryana’s brand ambassador by the BJP government in the state, said.
Ramdev’s statement comes a day after uproar in Rajya Sabha by Janata Dal-United MP KC Tyagi who flashed a packet of Putrajeevak Beej in Parliament, accusing Ramdev of promoting the male child.
