No lock lips for John and Pakhi

Mumbai, August 24: A lot has been spoken about the kiss between Pakhi Tyrewala and John Abraham in their upcoming movie, Jhootha Hi Sahi.

Turns out that the hype was needless, as the lead pair does not lock lips in the film after all. Though Pakhi was initially reluctant to share details about the much-hyped kiss, she gives in saying, “I think I should clarify that there is no kiss between me and John. I wouldn’t want to mislead the audience.”

Ask her if reports that she had stormed out of a special screening of the film because she was mad at her director-husband Abbas because he allegedly chopped a lot of her scenes in the film, and she admits that she was upset over the said issue.

“One has to understand that apart from acting in the film, I’ve also written its script. I am very attached to the film. The version shown to me had a lot of cuts with many scenes edited out so I was upset as a writer. However, I can make a little sound but I can’t storm out,” she laughs adding, “I wanted every nuance to be there but it’s possible for a filmmaker to do that. I felt bad but I wasn’t mad, as is being claimed,” says Pakhi.

The film was originally titled 1-800 and Pakhi says that the reason for the change in the title is that their research said that a big chunk of moviegoers said that the former title sounded like that of a thriller. “I’d say that the former title was more apt for the film, which is about a romantic comedy drama revolving around a group of friends. But Jhootha Hi Sahi is not bad either,” she chuckles.

Talking about the inspiration for the film, Pakhi says that the script is very personal to her as it is a tribute of sorts to a friends she lost recently. “The film is my way of reaching out to my friend and keep his memory alive,” she ends.
