Hyderabad, October 04: Despite several appeals from the state Congress leadership, party leaders in Andhra Pradesh today continued their war of words over the Telangana issue.
Karimnagar MP Ponnam Prabhakar took exception to the criticism of Congress Working Committee member K Keshav Rao by party Whip S Sailajanath.
“Keshav Rao never spoke in a way that hurts the party. It is not correct for Sailajanath to criticise Keshav Rao. We will ask PCC (Pradesh Congress Committee) President D Srinivas to take action against Sailajanath,” Prabhakar said.
Sailajanath, convener of Congress MLAs and MLCs from non-Telangana regions, had criticised Rao for certain remarks made by him at a meeting held at Karimnagar on Saturday last.
The meeting was organised to distribute aid to the kin of those who reportedly committed suicide in support of Telangana demand.
“Keshav Rao should specify what he has done for the benefit of Telangana people.
