Hyderabad: Taking his moral policing ahead, the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mahant Yogi Adityanath has now banned wearing of jeans and T-shirts for the state government employees during duty hours. The banning of informal dresses came after the ban on chewing of paan masala and gutkha in government offices.
Acting on the government’s direction, the district administration in Bareilly on Thursday barred government officials from wearing jeans and T-shirts in offices and asked them to come in formals. District Magistrate Surendra Singh asked all the officials in Collectorate to comply with order. The order was issued to all government departments which come under the DM office. DM during his inspection visit to Baheri, a tehsil in Bareilly, found majority of the tehsil employees in a casual dress wearing jeans, T-shirts, and sneakers.
CMO, Bareilly, warned that the violators of the orders will be marked absent and salary of a day will be deducted. He issued order no 2016-17/831 dated March 22, 2017 in this connection. The order spelled out a dress code i.e. pant-shirt for males and saree/salwar-suit for female government employees.
