State Minister of Excise and Prohibition Mr. M. Venkataramana condemned the allegations leveled against him and declared them as baseless. He demanded the C.M. to get the investigations done by a high level agency. Talking to newsmen in Secretariat, Mr. M.Venkataramna told that he has no connection with liquor syndicate.
He offered to tender his resignation if allegations are proved. On taking stringent measures on illicit liquor trade, wine merchants and some officials are angry with him and they are hatching conspiracies against him so that his attention could be diverted. The person who declared that he has paid Rs. 10 lakh to him is involved in many criminal and illegal activities. ACB officials neglected to seek any clarification from him. He met the C.M. yesterday and offered his resignation but C.M. refused it.
