No games with people, please!

Hyderabad, August 30: CPI State secretary K Narayana has advised Chief Minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy not to play games with people as they are already suffering on all fronts.

“Let the Chief Minister and TDP president Chandrababu Naidu play games with each other. There is no objection to it but let the both refrain from playing games with people which will be highly objectionable’’ Narayana said.

Addressing a press conference along with CPI Legislature Party leader G Mallesh here today, Narayana urged the government to abolish the TTD Trust Board and order a high-level inquiry into the alleged misdeeds. “It should act immediately and should not play the role of a spectator.’’ The CPI leaders alleged that the government had failed to tackle the drought and the chief minister himself was not serious about addressing the problem. Opposing the move to amend the Cooperative Societies Act, they said people would challenge the amendment in a court of law.

They said the CPI would organise mass movement on the Krishna-Godavari Basin gas issue and the party would conduct a round table at FAPCCI Bahavan on Sept 14 on the matter.

The CPI leaders took strong objection to the government’s decision to allot 25 acres of land, without following the rules and regulations, to KG Reddy at Urapally village in Kurnool district for establishing a Special Economic Zone (SEZ) nor did it have any recommendation from the AP Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation.

But the chief minister had laid the foundation stone for the SEZ.

Charging the management with doing real estate business, the CPI leaders demanded cancellation of the land allotment.
