With no evidence Delhi police tagged 10 innocents as Terrorist; Detained and released all

New Delhi: A day after releasing four Muslim youths of 10 the Delhi Police (Special Cell) released remaining 6 they detained for alleged links to the ‘Jaish-e-Mohammad’ on Sunday.

All of them are from poor families .

After questioning them for three days, police said they found no evidence to show that the 10 were involved in plotting a terror strike.

The move to release 10 detainees suspected of links with Jaish-e-Mohammad was welcomed by their families and preachers, who praised the police’s decision of thoroughly probing them instead of making hasty arrests.

However, sources added that two of the 10 youths are still under the scanner for calls and messages they exchanged with Sajid. All 10 are being counselled by a Maulana, Abdur Raziq, and a psychiatrist. The law of the land is being explained to them and they are being told how they were being fed a `doctored’ version of the Koran and jihad, sources said.

Police would keep them under surveillance, tracking their movements through manual and electronic means for the next one year, cops said.

They were picked up last Tuesday and Wednesday . Police had also arrested three other men , Sajid, Sameer and Shakir for conspiring to carry out terror strikes in NCR.

Special Commissioner of Police, Special Cell, Arvind Deep, told The Indian Express that the men had revealed they were angry at the system, which made them vulnerable to terror groups seeking new recruits.

Of the 13 who were detained by police last week, three will remain in police custody including Sajid whom police claim to be ‘ JeM module head’.

Police also claims that Sajid was planning to carry out terror strikes in NCR.
