Hyderabad: As per the instructions of CM of Telangana State, Mr. KCR, there will be no enhancement in electricity tariff. This was disclosed by Mr. Raghuma Reddy, Chairman and MD of Telangana State Southern Power Distribution Company Limited (TSSPDCL). He further told that the ban on three electricity connections for farmers has been done away with. The report was submitted by TSSPDCL was discussed by the State Electricity Regulatory Commission at a meeting held at FAPCCI Bhavan, Red Hills. Chairman of Telangana State Electricity Regulatory Commission, Mr. Ismail Ali Khan presided over the meeting.
According to the official sources, farmers and the representatives of various organizations participated in the discussions and apprised the Regulatory Commission of their issues.
Mr. Raghuma Reddy told that Govt. is sympathetic to resolve all the issues pertaining to farmers. In the past, electricity bills of the farmers used to be received through poly house but from 1st July, free electricity would be supplied through poly house for agricultural purposes. Mr. Reddy reacted strongly on cessation of electric current from A.P. under the pretext of non-payment of arrears. He further told that if A.P. stops the supply of electric current, Telangana will not suffer since it has surplus electricity now.
He criticized Govt. of A.P. that if they stop the supply electric current, Telangana State is in a position to provide adequate electricity. If need be, electricity would be purchased from other States.
