No doubt on Rahul Gandhi being future Congress president: Dwivedi

Illuminating the issues likely to be discussed at the upcoming All India Congress Committee (AICC) meeting on January 17, party leader Janardhan Dwivedi on Tuesday said it is clear that party vice president Rahul Gandhi will be the leader of the party after Sonia Gandhi.

Responding to queries about a possible announcement on Rahul’s candidature for the prime minister’s post, Dwivedi said: “The Congress is headed by Sonia Gandhi, and after her, he is the future Congress leader. This is very clear. As far as the candidate for the prime minister post is concerned, it is upto the senior leaders of party to decide on this.

” About the AICC meeting to be held on January 17 at the Talkatora Stadium, Dwivedi said: “There are two main issues for this meeting. First, is to discuss how the work on Lokpal and Lokayukta Bill will be proceeded on Congress led states.

Secondly, the issue of price rise and steps taken to deal with it. The recently passed Food Security Bill is also an important issue likely to be discussed.” “The meeting will be attended by all chief ministers of Congress-led states, Finance Minister, Home Minister and other prominent leaders will attend this meet,” he added.
