No distribution of Money & liquor to Voters: CP

Hyderabad City Police Commissioner Anurag Sharma has said the police would take severe action against those distributing money and liquor to the voters during the ensuing municipal and general elections in the city.

Speaking to mediapersons here on Saturday, the city police chief said his personnel would pay special attention and keep strict vigil on the election vehicles to curb malpractices. Stating that more than ten vehicles of a single political party would not be allowed to ply in the city, Anurag Sharma said electioneering in the name of religion is banned.

The city police chief also warned the people against taking law into their hands. He also asked all political parties not to write election graffiti on the walls and residential buildings without permission. Similarly, putting up flexes and boards atop government buildings is banned and the offenders would be dealt with iron hand. (NSS)
