Mumbai, April 12: No decision has been taken as of now about giving the Raj Kapoor Lifetime Achievement award to Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan, announced chief minister Ashok Chavan in the Assembly today.
Chief minister Chavan was replying to a point of propriety raised by Devendra Fadanavees (BJP).
Mr Chavan said there is an experts committee which advises the government on this. But they have not given their recommendation on this as yet, and added that media reports on the issue are speculative.
The Raj Kaoor Lifetime Achievement award is given by the state government to a senior artiste in Bollywood, while a V Shantaram award is given to prominent Marathi artiste. Last year, Rekha and Aamir Khan were honoured with Raj Kapoor awards.
