Amaravati (Andhra Pradesh): YSRCP Member of Parliament (MP) YV Subba Reddy again wrote to Secretary General Lok Sabha Snehlata Shrivastava to include in list of business for tomorrow ‘no confidence motion in the council of ministers’.
In a letter written to Shrivastava, Reddy said, “Under Rule 198 (b) of Chapter XVII of the Rules of Procedure and Conduct of Business in Lok Sabha. I hereby give notice to move the following motion in the House on March 20.”
“I request you to include the motion in the Revised List of Business for March 20,” he added.
YSR Congress which is an opposition party in Andhra Pradesh on March 18 gave a notice to the Lok Sabha General-Secretary seeking to move a no-confidence motion in the Lower House against the Centre for its refusal to grant special category status to Andhra Pradesh.
However, the Opposition could not move the no-confidence motion as the Lower House was adjourned.
While the Communist Party of India (CPI) extended their support for the no-confidence motion, Shiv Sena said that they would neither support the Government nor the Opposition but would abstain.
The Opposition party in Andhra Pradesh has been protesting in the Parliament over the non-issuance of special category status to the state.
The ruling Telugu Desam Party (TDP), too, reached a deadlock with its ally BJP over this issue and ultimately quit the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) coalition on Friday. (ANI)
