TDP Telangana Forum refuted the charge of Kadiyam Srihari who left the party that TDP supported the Congress government during the no-confidence motion voting in the Assembly.
Talking to the media here on Saturday, he said the no-confidence motion was intended to benefit the YSR Congress chief Y S Jaganmohan Reddy and hence TDP had taken the stand of maintaining neutrality. He said Jagan got the no-confidence motion filed only to blackmail the government and get bail. He explained that this was the reason why TDP had not supported it.
Talking to the media after a meeting with Chandra Babu Naidu, Yerrabelli said there was no damage to the party because of the resignation of Kadiyam Srihari. Stating that Kadiyam had enjoyed highest positions in the party, Yerrabelli said it was because of the party he got respect and not the other way round. Stating that anyone wanting to leave the party could do so, Yerrabelli advised that it was improper to criticize the party or Naidu.
Stating that several bigger leaders left the party, Yerrabelli reminded that ome of them had come out. He has asserted that the party would not be at loss because of anyone’s departure. On Srihari’s comments about Telangana, he reminded that he himself admitted that the party would not be able to go farther than what it did, on Telangana. Kadiyam said at the strength of the party was workers and not leaders and added that though Naidu said he would discuss about his problems after his pada yatra, Kadiyam took a hasty step.
Yerrabelli reminded there was no other leader who bitterly criticized the TRS chief K Chandrasekhara Rao, he questioned how he could now join that party. He said the party planned an agitation on Bayyaram on May 14 and with it, to intensify the Telangana movement and claimed that Srihari knew all these things.
Yerrabelli said Kadiyam was going into TRS only for his selfishness and not for Telangana. He claimed that Naidu had a clear idea about the Telangana issue.
Yerrabelli also spurned the criticism of Srihari that Naidu was giving positions only to the rich. He said there were both rich and poor among those who got positions. He disclosed that the Telangana issue was being included in the party’s election manifesto and reminded that Telangana should be demanded from Congress and not TDP. (NSS)
