No comparison of Media in India and China: Kiren Rijiju

Hyderabad: Union Minister of State for Home Affairs, Mr. Kiren Rijiju told that there can be no comparison between the media of India and China. Media is completely free in India. It is considered as the IV pillar of Constitution whereas, in the neighbouring communist country, China, media is subservient to Govt. He told this in reply to a question posed by a student. The student had put a question to him that in media, various stories are being published on Dokhlam deadlock. The minister very cleverly set aside the questions but told that media is completely free in India whereas China’s “Peoples’ Daily” is completely controlled by Communist Party of China.

He was addressing a youth convention organized by National Service Scheme of Osmania University and Nehru Yuva Kendra Sanghatan on “National Security: Efforts of Modi Govt. and Achievements”.

Commenting on the marriage of a Hindu woman with a Muslim man in Kerala, he said that there is enough evidence to prove that it is a case of “Love Jihad“.

It may be mentioned that Supreme Court has granted permission to NIA to probe into the case.

Reacting to the remarks made by Mr. Asaduddin Owaisi, President of MIM about “Love Jihad”, he said that he will not comment on this issue since this case is pending in the Supreme Court.
