No action on Airport user charges

(Siasat News) Despite the notification by the state Govt. for given 50% exemption in Airport user charges to the Haj pilgrims, no action has been taken by the GMR Co. so far. It is said that due to financial problems in the company, GMR has refused to exempt this charges. The state Govt. had declared that if GMR Co. does not reduced user charges, the state Govt. will bear it. A sum of Rs. 78 lakh were promised to be released to meet this expenses. Now that the Haj pilgrims have started coming back has not release the funds. Govt. of A.P. had written a letter to GMR Co. for reducing 50% airport charges to the Haj pilgrims but the company did not reply so far. They collected Rs. 1910 from every haj pilgrims towards Airport user charges. Now it is the responsibility of the state to release Rs. 78 lakh so that every haj pilgrims could get Rs.955 back.

When asked, Prof. Shukoor told that no correspondence has been initiated from the office of CM. If the Govt. releases Rs. 78 lakh, the balance amount will be remitted to the bank accounts of the Haj pilgrims.
