Nizam’s car damaged in Chowmahalla Palace

Hyderabad: Rolls Royce car of Nizam VI kept in Chowmahalla Palace has been damaged by unknown miscreants. It may be mentioned that this car was manufactured by Rolls Royce Company in 1911 especially for Nizam VI based on the London-Edinburgh design. It cost Rs. 1.5 – 2 lakh at that time.

 

Mr. G. Kishan Rao, Director of Chowmahalla Palace informed that CCTV recordings are being viewed to trace out the culprits. This car was transferred in the name of Nawab Meer Osman Ali Khan, Nizam VII after the death of his father. This car was being maintained by Hyderabad State Railway in its special garage. This car used to be taken out only on special occasions. Its meter has recorded only 356 mileage. The present value of this vintage car is about more than Rs. 20 crore. This vehicle is studded with golden parts. Its roof is made of silver. There is a proposal to restore its royal grandeur. Mr. Rana Manvinder Singh Barwani of Indore is being contacted for the restoration of the condition of this historic car.
