Patna, February 06: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Friday supported film actor Shah Rukh Khan, under attack from the Shiv Sena for speaking up for Pakistani cricketers’ inclusion in IPL-III.
Nitish Kumar said: “Shah Rukh is correct on his stand (on not apologising to the Sena). The Shiv Sena and Thackerays (Bal, Uddhav and Raj) have gone overboard with their agenda.” Attacking the “divisive” politics of the Shiv Sena and MNS, Nitish said there was no scope of regionalism in India.
Kumar, who left for Delhi to take up price rise and internal security matters with the Prime Minister, said the people of the country are against the “petty politics being played by the Thackerays”.
LJP president Ram Vilas Paswan demanded that the Shiv Sena and MNS should be banned for “constantly pursuing divisive politics”. He said it was high time “the government took harsh action against the Thackerays”.
