New Delhi, October 22: BJP today claimed that the main issue in Bihar elections were the achievements of the Nitish Kumar-led NDA government and this had forced even the Congress to accept, though grudgingly, that development had taken place in the state.
“Universally, development is the issue in Bihar and we are asking for votes on development. Even those criticising us are asking for votes on this issue. Congress President Sonia Gandhi and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh also said, knowingly or unknowingly, that development is taking place though they claim it is happening with their money,” senior BJP leader M Venkaiah Naidu said.
He maintained that till now Bihar elections were associated with caste, religious and regional affiliations of voters and candidates but the situation was different this time.
