Nitish Govt. to present Bihar Budget today

The Nitish-Kumar-led government will present the state budget for fiscal 2015-16 in the Bihar Assembly on Thursday.

The state’s economic survey of the state was presented yesterday.

After registering double-digit growth rate in the past few years, the growth rate of Bihar declined to 9.92 per cent of the Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP).

Bihar’s Finance Minister Bijendra Prasad Yadav has attributed this to sharp decline in agricultural growth in primary sector and lesser growth in secondary and tertiary sectors.

Backed by MLAs belonging to RJD, Congress, CPI and Independent, the Janata Dal (United) coalition government in Bihar won the confidence motion yesterday with a comfortable majority of 140 votes.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) walked out before the vote. (ANI)
