Nitish asks Congress to explain ‘pact’ with Lalu

Patna, September 13: Questioning the Congress about allowing RJD chief Lalu Prasad to occupy a front seat in the Lok Sabha, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar said it indicated that the two were ‘hand in glove’.

Kumar, who was talking to mediapersons, asked Congress to explain how Prasad could occupy the front row seat without its support.

He also asked Congress to explain if there was any guarantee that it would not join hands with RJD after the elections.

Congress had contested the Assembly polls in 2000 alone but later all its legislators were made ministers in the RJD-led government, Kumar said adding the people would reject both Congress and RJD in the coming polls.

Earlier in the day, Prasad had accused BJP-JD(U) alliance of having a ‘secret understanding’ with Congress and cautioned the people against voting for Congress as it would mean helping BJP in the elections.
