New Delhi: Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti on Tuesday said the National Institute of Technology (NIT), Srinagar, issue should not be seen as outsider versus insider.
Talking to reporters after a meeting with Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh here, she said: “The students have sought time to prepare for examination, as they could not concentrate following the incident. The Human resource and Development (HRD) Ministry is looking into it.”
Mehbooba meeting with Rajnath came in the backdrop of recent clashes between local and outstation students on the NIT Srinagar campus during India-West Indies match in the T20 World Cup.
The situation worsened last week when outstation students tried to take out a march outside the campus, but were stopped by police, leading to lathicharge by police. (ANI)
