NIT College Turns Tense Over Ragging

Tension prevailed in the town for some time when student unions launched agitation to check ragging in the National Institute of Technology on Thursday.

The police intervened and stopped the students when they tried to attack a professor by barging into the Director’s chamber. As a result, scuffle took place between the policemen and students.

Demanding that outside student union leaders should leave the college premises, NIT college students said they would solve the ragging problem. Following this, arguments took place between the students of NIT and student union leaders. The police have arrested the agitators. (NSS)
